MICRONOR MECHANICAL SENSORS

Mechanical sensors: definition and benefits

In principle, these are touch-switching sensors. These are usually connected directly to the motor shaft or used on a joint for positioning and limit switching. For example, they are used on machine tools, presses, flexible manufacturing centers, robots, assembly and conveyor systems, in mechanical and apparatus engineering. The mechanical sensors have proven themselves for decades.

The greatest advantage of mechanical sensors from MICRONOR is their high level of reliability. Even in harsh environments, they are insensitive to external influences such as shock loads, rapid and severe temperature fluctuations, vibrations and heavy soiling. With these properties, they are ideal for use as special safety switches.

MICRONOR has specialized in particular in mechanical sensors for detecting rotary movements. With them it is possible to measure speeds of up to 100,000 revolutions per minute or generally track sections via speed. Many different possible combinations can be implemented with mechanical sensors from MICRONOR. There is a wide variety of sensor signals, housing shapes, devices with positive opening mechanisms and form-fitting shaft-cam connections.

Mechanical sensors from MICRONOR

Depending on the area of application, different mechanical sensors are required. Therefore, in the MICRONOR offer you will find the following mechanical sensors. We also briefly explain what the respective mechanical sensors can do. All these mechanical sensors from MICRONOR have one thing in common: Mechanical sensors and devices from MICRONOR are very robust, extremely reliable and can be used universally. If necessary, we adapt them to your specific requirements.

Encoder

A rotary encoder converts rotary motion into digital signals. They can be used to determine lengths, positions, speeds and acceleration. Depending on your needs, you will find incremental and absolute rotary encoders with us.

Gear limit switch

Geared limit switches are mechanical control units composed of an input shaft, a reduction gear and the corresponding switches. You have the option of additionally equipping your gear limit switch with a potentiometer, an analogue interface, angle displays or handwheels from MICRONOR.

Manual input devices/handwheels

The manual input devices from MICRONOR can be used universally, for example mounted directly on a front panel. The operator receives clear feedback from the mechanically tactile grid. In combination with the ergonomically designed control button, they enable an intuitive user experience.

Motor potentiometer

These mechanical sensors are suitable for a variety of applications. They are easy to install, easy to use and work without a computer or software. An electric motor turns a potentiometer via the gearbox. This in turn changes the resistance via the temporal ramp predefined by the gearing. You will find motorized potentiometers in direct current and alternating current versions.

Resolver

If you want to connect the analog world of machines with a digital controller, you need a resolver, for example. Our resolvers consist of few components and have a compact rotor without windings in order to significantly increase reliability and possible areas of application. MICRONOR resolvers are compatible with conventional brushless resolvers and can easily replace them.

Timers

When it comes to mechanical sensors, timers are the simplest solution for smaller control tasks. They are used where a programmable logic controller or a PLC (programmable logic controller) is too expensive. Furthermore, they can be used where other technologies are unsuitable due to environmental conditions such as high temperatures or high humidity.

Conclusion

Mechanical sensors have many areas of application. To find out which products best suit your individual needs, we would be happy to advise you.
